The short version: Chordology runs entirely on your device. There are no accounts and no personal information is collected. The only data gathered is anonymous usage analytics and crash reports, used solely to improve the app and fix bugs — never linked to your identity and never used to track you.
Chordology does not ask you to create an account and does not gather personal data. I do not collect your name, email address, location or contacts, and I never ask you to identify yourself. The only information collected is anonymous analytics and crash data, described below. Everything else you do in the app — the chords you browse, instruments you pick, tunings you set — stays on your device.
I collect anonymous analytics about how the app is used — for example which features are opened and how the app is navigated. I use this only to understand how people use Chordology so I can improve the experience. This data is not linked to your identity in any way and is never used to track you across apps, services or over time.
I collect anonymous crash reports so I can find and fix problems and keep the app stable. I use this only to reduce the number of crashes. Like the analytics above, crash data is not linked to your identity and is never used to track you.
Any in-app purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Chordology never sees or stores your payment details. Apple’s handling of that transaction is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
If you choose to share a chord from the app, the content is sent only to the recipient and through the app or service you select using your device’s standard share sheet. Chordology does not route this through, or retain a copy on, any server.
Chordology is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The analytics and crash data described above are anonymous and cannot be used to identify any individual.
If this policy ever changes, I will update this page and revise the date above. Because I don’t collect contact information, material changes will be reflected here rather than sent to you directly.
